ABSTRACT

Cervical subaxial posterior approaches are used for disorders such as disc degeneration, trauma, tumors, infections, and deformity. A variety of techniques selected for these problems provide adequate neural decompression and prevent further spinal instability. In the cervical subaxial pathologies, laminectomy, laminoforaminatomy, laminoplasty, posterior wiring for fusion, interlaminar clamp, and lateral mass screws are used. One of these techniques can be selected according to the pathology, age of the patient, cervical deformity at presentation, and estimated survival.
