On 21 of 76 cases (27.6%) various complications vvere seen. Ali complications except in one case vvith a cauda equina lesion vvere recovered completely vvithout sequelae.
The high ratio of complications even in a highly specialised çenter revealed again that spinal surgery must be performed by experienced surgeons under suitable conditions.
